Winter blues. love’s ember

Feburary 2025

As we move through this season—both figuratively and literally—how have you been caring for yourself? Does your self-care feel softer, gentler, and warmer?

Our physical and mental routines naturally shift in winter, much like our desire for socializing. Many people experience seasonal changes in mood, and much of that stems from society’s resistance to our innate rhythms as living beings. In nature, trees and plants go dormant, bears hibernate, and birds migrate south. Yet, we are expected to push through at the same pace, maintaining productivity during what is meant to be a season of rest and renewal.

So, we ask again—how is your self-care? If you find yourself less motivated to "hit the gym" or reaching for comfort foods over rigid health goals, give yourself grace. Your body’s instincts may simply be guiding you toward ease this season, and that, too, is a form of well-being.
