Time heals little.

September 2025

Grief is a swirling thing. It is often said that time can heal all wounds, but time actually creates a different understanding of the process. In certain seasons of our lives, the ache of absence can feel sharper than before. Time actually does not heal, it prepares, it protects, it gives us room to accept and understand. But it is not a cure.

Wishing for the pain to pass quickly is natural, but it is also futile. Healing comes from allowing the feeling to be - fully. So feel. Experience. Grieve.

As we prepare for our 5th Annual They Didn’t Know We Were Seeds Family Wellness Retreat, we are opening our arms a little wider, to families impacted by gun violence. In a city deeply entangled with this crisis, and in a nation where the presence of guns is both historical and haunting, it is likely that more of us than not have been touched by this kind of loss.

As always, the retreat is a space for women and children to rest, reflect, and rediscover joy. This year, we are layering in a little more tenderness and a little more love because we know how deeply it is needed.
